Extended family display

Further to an extended family search via the wizard of searching by numbers or with the link from the hitlist or the document view, hitlist are displayed on this page.

The FamPat families are presented in a central list. There are separated by a black line.

For each family, you will see indicated:

      The title

      The assignee/owner

      The publication number, the publication office is presented by its flag (except for PCT)

      The status code

      The publication date

      The application number

      The application date

      The priority number(s)

      The priority date(s)

A number is displayed in front of each family, you know in this way how many FamPat families compose your extended family.

A selection box is also available in front of each family.

Toolbar

Selection

Most of the functions (export, top, etc...) are only accessible after having selected at least one document. So the buttons appear in the toolbar. With a right click, you can display the labels of the buttons.

You can select the retrieved set of documents by clicking on All the references. All the selection boxes therefore are checked.

You can also check in a specific manner families by using the selection box.

To deselect, click on None.

Export

After having selected one of the FamPat families, you can export the extended family at the PDF or RTF format.

Two reception modes are possible:

      Download: you have the possibility to download the files and then save it. The message “Click here to download the file” is a link for the downloading.

      E-mail: the export can also be sent by e-mail. The sender address must not be modified. The sender address is the one indicated in your “User settings”, you can add new addresses separated by comas. Comments can also be included in your export. They will be displayed in the body of the e- mail as well as the data base where comes from the documents, the number of exported documents and the link of the file. The link will be active during 30 days. For important files, the attachment will be automatically replaced by the link (limit of 3000 Kg for attachments). The message “Export sent by e-mail to XXX@YYYY.GGG” indicates that the export has been carried out.

Compressed file: this option is in the same time available for the downloading and for the sending by e-mail. It is on the other hand mandatory as soon as for the complete formats TXT and XML, the option Designs first page is checked.

The Finish button validates your export.

The exported data are in first page template. You will find in the export, in addition of the data of the first page, the patent citations and the literature, the legal status and the date of entrance on the collection.

Quick search line

At the top of the page is a quick search line: Strategy.

You can directly enter a keyword or a name: the search will be performed in text fields + applicant + inventor. In FamPat / Fullpat the text fields are description, claims, title, abstract, key info, advantages of the invention over the prior art, independent claims, concepts, and Fulltext. In Fulltext the text fields are title, abstract, description and claims. If a field is specified, the search will be conducted specifically on that field.

If you enter a number, the search will be conducted in the publication, application and priority number fields, unless you specify a different field.

Clicking on the arrow at the end of the line will display your search history in a dropdown menu. By clicking on the number of results, you will display the list of results.

The arrows at the bottom of the page allow you to navigate from page to page. The double arrow to refresh the contents of the history.

Extended tab

In the extended tab, all the FamPat families of the extended family are presented with each family all the publication numbers and type of documents.

By default, the families are unfolded, but the black arrow in front of the FamPat family allows you to fold them.If you click on FamPat family, you are redirected on the document view of the selected FamPat family.

It is the same if you click on specific member.

The link Display the extended family table allows you going back to the extended view.

The Back button allows going back to the previous view from which you have requested the extended family search.

With the Menu tab, you have the possibility of going back on the general search wizard, of visualizing your history etc…

The Explorer menu allows displaying the tree of lists, Directories and workfiles.
