Create An Alert

Name, run and email

Alerts are defined by the following:

      Name (mandatory)

      Subaccount (optional)

      Run: Choose the frequency of the alert updates: biweekly, week, 2 weeks, month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months

For the Report, select from:

      Receive first basis report for all numbers: an email is sent to the referenced address, which summarizes the information in the alert: Name, frequency, date of last report.

      After, do not receive an email in absence of event or hit: the reports are sent only when a legal status has changed.

You can include the family members by selecting Integrate the family members.

For each alert, search reports are sent by email; the recipient's address must be specified. Several email addresses separated by semicolons may be entered in the Send to and Sent copy to boxes.

The initial reports, if this option has been selected, and the alert reports will be sent to each address.

Country code and number /Type of number

Legal Status alerts are based on numbers: application (filing), publication (of application stages), patent, US Serial and US PCT. For each number type, a specific format must be used:

The numbers can be entered one at a time, and subsequent lines are automatically displayed (up to 16 lines).

If you have more than 16 numbers to monitor, you can use the Patent number wizard. You can enter up to 100 numbers separated by spaces, commas, or line breaks can then be entered. Selecting the OK button will automatically put one number per line.

Clicking the X (cross) at right deletes the entry.

Extended family

You can extend your number monitoring to include extended family results by selecting extended family legal status.

If “No local office” is selected, the extended family is checked and cannot be removed.

National register

Nine national registers are available for Legal Status monitoring: European Patent Office, German Patent office, US PAIR, Canadian Patent Office, Korean Patent Office, Chinese Patent Office, UK Patent Office, Patolis-e and INPI.    

By entering certain country codes, a national registry is suggested; you can edit the suggested national registry. The suggested number types will depend on the national registry selected.

You can add a comment for each number. It will be visible in the report that is sent and when the alert is viewed.

Filters

For the US PAIR and EPO, it is possible to filter by patents issued. The OK button confirms the filter, while the Cancel button closes the window. 

When all the fields have been filled out and the alert is complete, the OK button can be used to save the alert. The Cancel button erases the entered data.

You can view the contents of your portfolio by selecting either the name of the sub-account or the name of the alert.

 

Numbers not found will not be billed.
